Another great Kickstarter Project that’s looking for seed funding, this is probably the cleanest iPhone4 alarm setup I’ve seen. (BTW, the Clock/Alarm App is called “Atomic Clock” by Gorgy Timing). Check out the Kickstarter page, or read more at Gizmodohere.
So you’re hanging out at your local whatever, and you want to let your friends know exactly where you are so you can all hook up for good times and bad craziness… But calling them and giving directions (across from the Starbucks, just past the old porn shop off Central Avenue, etc.) is such a hassle. Sure, you can already use Google Maps on your iPhone to send out the info, but that’s via anemail or MMS. Too much work, right? With FlareGun, (available in the iTunes App Store for $0.99) the whole laborous process of detailing your whereabouts is turned into a simple text with your exact location as a link that can be viewed by anyone you have stored as a contact or have a phone number for.
There. “Dude, I just sent you a Flare…” Now get back to paying attention to that amazing him/her/whatever until the reinforcements arrive.
Why didn’t I think of this? Visit the web site to find out more these amazing women. Epic Change launched “To Mama With Love” as a collaborative art project that “honors moms across the globe and raises funds to invest in remarkable women who are transforming our world.” There are several ways that you can get involved with this year’s campaign: You can create a heartspace on the website to show your favorite mamas how much you love them, as well as spread the world on Facebook and Twitter. Pictures, artwork, poems and video can be embedded in each heartspace and can be shared via email and social networks. Family members and friends can collaborate by donating to your mama and anyone can leave a comment on the wall of your heartspace.
Oh, and did I mention that over 95% of the funds donated through “To Mama With Love” will be invested in the four featured projects? So show your “Mama” how much you love her. And make the world a better place.
Today, I join with thousands of amazing, caring people in a worldwide project to honor the mothers of the world, and to raise funds to support four amazing “Mamas.”
To Mama With Love was originally launched in May 2010 by Epic Change, the innovative US nonprofit behind TweetsGiving, one of the first events to harness Twitter for social good, and the TwitterKids of Tanzania, a classroom of remarkable seventh-graders who blog & tweet from their village near Arusha.
To Mama With Loveis a collaborative online art project that honors moms across the globe and raises funds to invest in remarkable women who are transforming our world. Scheduled for May 3-8, 2011, participants create socially sharable “heartspaces” that include words, videos, photos & investments in honor of mamas they love.
The “heartspace”video and written tribute to our Mom, Connie Farver, on behalf of myself, my brother Patrick and sister Cindy, may be viewed here.
